British Columbia celebrates Earth Day!

April 22nd was a busy day for Tree Planting in British Columbia as both the cities of Coquitlam and Chilliwack took to the shorelines in an effort to plant 3745 trees.

In Coquitlam, City Councillor Mae Reid and Parks and Recreation Manager Selina Robinson joined volunteers from the Hoy/Scott Watershed Society, Gleneagle High School, Eagle Ridge Elementary School. Pinetree Secondary School, Eagle Rodge Bible School and the Pentecostal Assembly of Canada at Scott Creek to plant over 745 trees and shrubs.

In Chilliwack, over the course of 2 days, 3000 Douglas Fir seedlings were planted at the Bailey Landfill along Jefferson Creek thanks to the hard work of 12 local scouts, and 49 grade 8 students from Highroad Academy School.
